Council hosts the Engage! Teenage Holiday Program during the school holiday period.

The next Engage! School Holiday Program will be held in January, 2019 with most events based at the Engage! Youth Space.

Engage! Youth and FReeZA Holiday Program

 

Tuesday 24 September - 11am to 4pm

Vintage Tea Party:

In preparation for their trip to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Engage! Youth will enjoy a Vintage Tea Party that will include delightful food with some creative time to make head wear and broaches in preparation for Charlie and the chocolate factory. 

Wednesday 25 September – 8am to (return time to be confirmed.)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory trip:

Departing at 8am the Engage! A group of 10 young people will depart from Derby Road and travel with Maffescioni Bus lines to Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne for the musical theatre production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

This is based off Roald Dahl’s classic and features songs from the original film Pure Imagination, The Candy Man and I’ve Got a Golden Ticket and a host of original songs. It features amazing sets, costumes and a stellar cast.

It is sure to be an everlasting showstopper.

Thursday 26 September, 11am to 4pm

T-shirt design workshop:

Make your own t-shirt design and create your own logo, transferring your design on to your T-shirt. Or using fabric paints and sharpies to create a one of a kind t-shirt. 

BYO white t-shirt and create your personalised design.

Tuesday 1 October, 11am to 4pm

Health and wellbeing day and WIFI Free day:

A simple day of health and wellbeing tips and positive outlooks. Our Healthy Hearts guest will assist us in creating a healthy lunch using supplies from the local community garden. Included in our day will be healthy milk shakes and simple wellbeing practices.

Wednesday 2 October, 11am to 4pm

Boy’s day out – Reward day:

The boys of the FReeZA group have their reward trip to the movies enjoying a “Boys day out” The movie is yet to be confirmed. We will meet at the Engage! Youth Space and walk down to the movies together and enjoy the afternoon as a group before returning to the Engage! Youth Space.

Thursday 3 October, 11am to 4pm

Boho Vintage Craft:

Creating the Boho feel for our Engage! Youth Space, create art pieces working with wool, old doilies and vintage lace, crafts supplies and paints. 

We will make wall hangings, dream catchers and art works and put a Boho feel around our space.

Note to Parents- You are required to fill out the Holiday Program participation forms.

We do provide snacks and drinks but it is recommended participants bring their own lunch.
