COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information

Step Three on the Coronavirus roadmap

Regional Victoria - including Central Goldfields Shire - is currently in the third step on the Coronavirus roadmap. This is the Third Step towards COVID Normal. 

In summary, this means:

✓ You can have two people visit you at home each day (from different households).

✓ Libraries and toy libraries can open for up to 20 people indoors

✓ Outdoor religious gatherings are allowed for up to 20 people plus one faith leader

✓ The limits of people in restaurants and cafés has increased – up to 70 people outdoors and up to 10 people per indoor space

✓ Indoor pools can open for one-on-one hydrotherapy sessions. Swimming classes can resume.

Although the restrictions may be easing we must continue to: 

Be vigilant: Stay safe by washing your hands regularly, coughing and sneezing into your elbow, keeping at least 1.5 metres from  others and staying home if you feel unwell. 

Face masks: 

It is mandatory to wear a mask or face covering in Victoria when leaving your home. A $200 penalty will apply. For more information visit From Sunday 11 October 2020, face shields are no longer accepted as face coverings, and if worn on their own (without other face coverings), you risk a fine. You can choose to wear the face shield in addition to a reusable mask, however the face shield on its own will not be sufficient to comply with the rules around face coverings.

Get tested: If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, you must get tested. Symptoms include:

  • Cough or sore throat
  • Fever, chills or sweats
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Loss of sense of smell or taste.

Remember - you must stay home and isolate whilst you await your test results. 

The Victorian Government is providing one-off payments to financially support Victorian workers, including parents and guardians, who are required  to self-isolate or quarantine due to coronavirus. Workers include those that are permanent, casual,  part-time, fixed term, and self-employed. Details HERE
