Changes to Council facilities and services 

Our priority continues to be the safety and wellbeing of our community, volunteers and staff.

Services have been modified to restrict face-to-face interactions - with Council staff still available via phone and email.

We’ll continue to provide regular service changes information on this page of our website as well as on Facebook @CentralGoldfields and Twitter @CG_Shire

FACILITIES AND SERVICES

The following buildings are closed to public access.  Services are still available by phone and email as outlined below:

Customer Service Centre

  • Online: Faults can be reported via our free Neat Streets App (downloadable from your phone’s App Store. Report a street or road issue, graffiti, hazard, damage, litter, pothole, signage, street light or even parking related issue direct to our works team.

Visitor Information Centre – Maryborough

Maryborough Regional Library

All Central Goldfields Library due dates have been automatically extended and no fines will be administered during the closure. This includes both Maryborough and Dunolly libraries. 

Click and Collect: From Wednesday 3 June, the Maryborough Regional Library will commence a Click and Collect Service. Library users can call or email the Library to arrange a collection time. Returned items need to be placed in to the outside returns chute.

  • Waste water septic systems: Applications to alter or install a waste water system registrations can be dropped into our after- hours chute, submitted via email mail@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au or sent by mail to PO BOX 194, Maryborough Victoria, 3465. Application payments can be made in cheque with the application or credit card (once your application has been assigned to an officer).

     Applications that are being advertised can be viewed on our website here. 

  • Building permit applications and any additional information that you wish to submit in support of a building application can be submitted via email mail@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au or sent by mail to PO BOX 194, Maryborough, Victoria, 3465. You will receive a letter of receipt of your application. Application payment can be made in cheque with the application or credit card (once your application has been assigned to an officer).

     Building inspections will be made via appointment and staff will follow social distancing guidelines.    

Road, tree, drain, footpath management

Contact our Customer Service team to notify us of an issue relating to roads, trees, footpaths and drainage. Email is preferred so that we have your contact details, description and address of the issue, and any photographs attached that would assist in describing the problem. Goldfields Family Centre

Long Day Care and the three and four-year-old kindergarten program at the Goldfields Family Centre and Family Day Care continue to operate with additional safety measures in place.

Maternal and Child Health

All Maternal and Child Health Key Ages and Stages consultations will be conducted via teleconference unless families are otherwise notified. All Immunisations as per the National Immunisation Schedule will be administered as per prior appointment with additional COVID-19 screening measures in place. 

*** UPDATE (01/06) our Maternal and Child Health service will return to normal from Monday, 9 June. 

Aged Care and Disability Services

All Council home care, personal care, respite, meals on wheels and home and property maintenance services are been provided at the normal service level at present. Extra precautions have been implemented for the health and safety of our clients and staff. Any changes to service levels will be individually discussed with clients.

Waste Collection and Transfer Stations

School crossings

Motorists are advised that all of our school crossings are now in operation. 

Please help our children stay safe by obeying reduced speed limits between the designated times, and being patient by looking out for any children crossing the road.

The following facilities are now closed to the public: 

Playgrounds and Skate Parks

Following the State Government announcement on Sunday, 24 May - our playgrounds and skate parks will re-open. 

Our works team will work to re-open all playgrounds and skate parks and have all play equipment back in place as soon as possible over the coming days. Families are reminded that restrictions are still in place – with only 10 people allowed at a playground at the one time – and social distancing measures must be adhered to. Our works team will also commence the cleaning of our playgrounds and skate parks on a daily basis.

Please be patient with our works teams over the coming days as they work to re-open and re-instate all playground and skate park facilities as soon as possible.

  • Australia Post Billpay: The Billpay code and reference number are located under the 'How to Pay Your Account' information on the front of your rate or animal registration notice next to the Billpay logo. 
  • By phone: Via Australia Post Billpay – 13 18 16 BPay or via credit card by contacting the Customer Service Centre 
  • By mail: Cheque or money order can be made payable to 'Central Goldfields Shire Council' and mailed to Central Goldfields Shire Council, PO Box 194, Maryborough VIC 3465 
  • BPay/BPay View: Payment can be made via BPay / BPay View and can be done via phone or internet banking. The biller code and reference number are located under the 'How to Pay Your Account' information on the front of your rate or animal registration notice next to the BPay logo.
