Public Holiday closure  

Council’s Customer Service Centre, VicRoads, Maryborough Regional Library - Victoria, Goldfields Family Centre and Depot/Pound will be closed on: 

• Thursday 26 January due to the Australia Day Public Holiday  

The Central Goldfields Shire after-hours service will operate as normal. 

Please note the Central Goldfields Visitor Information Centre is open from 9am to 5pm. 

Urgent issues relating to the following areas can be reported to:

Looking for ways to keep the kids entertained during the summer school holidays?  

Our Gallery, Library, Youth and Goldfields Family Centre teams have got you covered.  

They’ve put together a great program of events and activities – with something for all ages, including:

  • Skate Park and Scooter Fun on Tuesday 24 January  

  • Movie Day on Tuesday 24 January  

  • Maryborough Madness on Thursday 26 January

Australia Day 2023  

Residents are invited to mark Australia Day on Thursday 26 January, 2023 at the Central Goldfields Shire Australia Day free, family event at the Station Domain, Maryborough.  

A free breakfast and children’s activities will commence at 8.30am followed by official proceedings at 9.15am. The Australia Day Awards – including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Award of the Year – will also be announced.  

The event will also include a Citizenship Ceremony where new residents will become Australian Citizens. Medallions will also be presented to all babies born during 2022 and books will also be presented to all four-year-old children starting kindergarten in 2023. Pride Festival  

Excitement is building for Pride Festival.  

The event will be held at the Mill House Neighbourhood House from 12 to 6pm on Saturday 28 January 2023.  

There'll be performances from regional bands, a drag show, talks from organisations such as Headspace – with a focus on identity.

NGV Kids on Tour 2023 

Come and enjoy a morning of art making as part of the 2023 National Gallery of Victoria Kids on Tour: LET’S MAKE ART! program 

  • 10.00am to 11.00am, Tuesday 24 January at the Atrium in the Maryborough Resource Centre, Corner of Nolan and Alma Streets, Maryborough 

  • 8:30am to 10.30am, Thursday 26 January at the Central Goldfields Shire Australia Day event in Station Domain (Corner Nolan Street and Burns Street, Maryborough). 

This program is FREE and is suitable for children aged 5 years and younger, with all children to accompanied by a parent/carer. No bookings are required.

VACCINATION PROGRAM 

Council’s immunisation team is making it easier than ever for you, or a member of your family, to keep up-to-date with vaccinations.  

From January to March 2023, Council's team will be visiting Talbot and Dunolly for sessions, as well as hosting its usual sessions in Maryborough.  

The sessions are free for vaccinations on the National Immunisation Program (NIP), and for all ages. Vaccines also available for private purchase for non-NIP vaccines.
