Thank you for your feedback

Between December, 2020 and January, 2021 we invited community feedback on our Draft Communications and Engagement Strategy and Draft Community Engagement Policy.

Thank you to the 100 plus residents who contributed via listening posts, surveys and written submissions – the feedback you shared helped us gain four key insights:

  • The biggest barrier to participation is a lack of trust in the engagement processes
  • Our community is diverse so communication needs to be targeted.
  • Our community is diverse so there is no one size fits all approach to engagement.
  • Our community wants transparency from Council.

Changes have been made to both documents in response to this feedback.

The updated Community Engagement Policy was adopted at the February Council Meeting (23/02) and the updated Communications and Engagement Strategy will be considered at the April Council Meeting.
