Careers Expo Maryborough

The Maryborough Careers Expo will be held on Wednesday, 20 March 2024 at the Maryborough Railway Station and is open to the community from 1pm to 2pm.

The purpose of the Expo is to connect young people, community members and job seekers with representatives of local employers and industries, to highlight the career pathways and employment opportunities available in the Central Goldfields region.

Exhibitors will be offering interactive presentations across a range of industries and services, including but not limited to:

  • Tourism
  • Hospitality
  • Event management
  • Manufacturing
  • Trades
  • Healthcare
  • Disability support
  • Local government
  • TAFE (including career advice and support services)

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour around and engage with industry presentations, ask questions of representatives, and learn about further opportunities to engage with employers if they would like to find out more.

Accessibility

Central Goldfields Shire Council aims to ensure that all community events are inclusive and accessible to community members of all backgrounds and abilities. The Maryborough Railway Station building is wheelchair accessible and features ambulant-accessible bathroom facilities. A sensory quiet space will also be available during the event if required by attendees.

Photography

A photographer will be present at the Expo to capture images of the event.

Images captured at the event will be used by the Central Goldfields Shire Council and its partners strictly for the purposes of promotions, project reporting, and evaluation.

Attendees who do not wish to be photographed are asked to inform event staff on entering the Railway Station foyer- staff will provided them with a wristband / lanyard that will allow the photographer to ensure they are excluded from images.

Feedback and privacy information

Attendees will be invited to provide feedback on the Expo event and broader careers activities in the Shire, through anonymous survey activities both on the day and following the event. Participation in feedback activities is voluntary; all information provided will be de-identified and utilized strictly for the purpose of evaluation and planning of future initiatives.

Central Goldfields Shire Council’s collection, use, storage, and disclosure of information collected in relation to this event is managed in accordance with the Victorian Privacy and Data Collection Act 2014.
